Mobility in Erlangen

Bike

The fastest way to travel is normally by bike. Besides this, it is also good for the environment, keeps you fit and is quite cheap, especially if you buy an already used one. Repairing and keeping it working is easy to do. There are plenty of affordable places to repair it. So if you don’t have a bike yet, get one!

Public transportation

Of course, there are also a lot of busses which drive to our campus. When you’re coming from Nuremberg, you might use the 20 (stops directly at station Technische Fakultät/Wohnheim) or the 30 (stops some minutes away but is faster and is also available after 20 pm). When you go by train, you’ll probably get out at Paul-Gossen-Straße, where the 280 will also bring you to Technische Fakultät/Wohnheim.When travelling from the city center, the 293, 287, 20, and 30 are the right ones for you. But be aware: Because of traffic busses are often later than expected, so plan some extra time! Don’t forget to get a Deutschland-Ticket if you’re traveling often outside of Erlangens free-zone in the city center. It tends to be cheaper than buying a single ticket every time.
